We are here to help when you need us

We provide one-off appointments for sports or deep tissue massages with our in-house sports and remedial massage therapist, which do not require a consultation. If you are already a patient the notes will be carried over and a detail review will be given for the massage therapist to carry on the good work.

Sports and deep tissue massages are available in half hour and one-hour appointments and our team is trained in testing restrictions or injuries on the day. On the initial phone call with one of our specialists, we will be able to tell you whether it would be best to book in to have a massage or a more detailed consultation with our spinal and rehabilitation therapist.

Most people feel very relaxed. For medical massage clients, you may feel a significant decrease or freedom from long-term pains. Some clients say they feel a little slowed down, and then notice a burst of energy which can last for days.
02. Will Deep Tissue/Sports Massage hurt?
At certain points during the massage, most people find there is usually some discomfort and pain. It is important to tell the massage therapist when things hurt and if any soreness or pain you experience is outside your comfort range. There is usually some stiffness or pain after a deep tissue massage, but it should subside within a day or so. The massage therapist may recommend applying ice to the area after the massage. However, people often notice improved range of motion immediately after a deep tissue massage.
03. What is Deep Tissue/Sports Massage?
Deep Tissue/Sports Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons and fascia. Deep tissue/Sports massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles not with the grain. Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, if the massage is done correctly you should feel better than ever within a day or two.
04. How does it works?
Sports massage breaks down adhesions in the soft tissue, which often develop from overuse. Overuse injuries are common in activities that create repetitive motion of joints and soft tissue. Microtrauma can build in the muscle tissue, particularly in areas of weakness, which over time can develop into tightness and areas of tension. Deep tissue massage techniques help to break down these areas of tension, bringing blood to the area and allowing the body to heal and repair?
